This fantastic, herbal, anti bacterial mouth rinse is super useful to have on hand! I have found it invaluable during the pandemic, when it hasn’t always been easy to get to the dentist. It is wonderful for warding off infections and also helps with overall mouth health. I keep a bottle of this in my fridge at all times. Yep, I keep it in the fridge! It lasts forever this way. 🙂 Please use organic herbs, and clean, filtered water, for best results!
Recipe:
4 cups of water
2 heaping tsp Cinnamon Chips
2 heaping tsp Cloves
2 heaping tsp Rosemary
2 heaping tsp Sage
2 heaping tsp Thyme
1 TBS of Calendula
1 tsp Myrrh Powder
1 1/2 tsp Echinacea Powder
2 tsp Sea Salt
40 drops of Calendula tincture
1) Make a decoction of the Cinnamon and Cloves. To make a decoction: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add the cinnamon and cloves and then turn heat down to a simmer. Cover and let simmer for at least 30 minutes.
2) Turn off the stove and immediately add the Rosemary, Sage, Thyme and Calendula to the pot. Cover pot again and with flame off, let steep for at least another 30 minutes. When the steeping is complete, strain brew into a mason jar.
3) Add the Myrrh powder, Echinacea powder and Sea Salt after the brew is strained into the Mason Jar. Close jar and shake well. After the brew has cooled to room temperature, add Calendula tincture if desired. Keep refrigerated between uses.
